“WRINKLES” BY RICHARD GREEN: A TIMELESS MASTERPIECE OF LIFE’S REFLECTIONS

One thing I love about music is it’s ability to convey a message and connect the listener to its theme even without any lyrical content and that makes it special. I’ve got this amazing composition here titled “Wrinkles” by Richard Green and some talented artist in Irene Veneziano on piano and the Archimia Strings Quartet. Together they have birthed a track that is soothing, intriguing and captivating. The way they blended those piano elements with these magical strings makes it soo touching and evocative with the way they blend and pan out. If you’ve listened to his EP titled “The Circle Closes,” this track Wrinkles opens the EP, takes you on an unimaginable journey through your life, letting you ponder on the what could have been, and what could have not. Allowing you to immerse yourself in the whole EP.
One may wonder how these amazing artist met, well that was during the COVID-19 pandemic when Richard first connected with Irene through Facebook. With their initial collaboration being a pop song that hit the world, with The Archimia Strings Quartet coming from Richard’s hometown. Now this track “Wrinkles” wasn’t just crafted from anything, it was crafted from a rich well of influences, blending the contemporary, new-age soundscapes reminiscent of Ludovico Einaudi with an even more modern twist. What made this fusion magical is how the blend of different styles created a masterpiece that is timeless and innovative, elevating the classical music ever growing scenes. One may ask what sets this particular song apart from the rest of the classical songs out there, well the way they crafted this piece is what makes it remarkable, the attention to detail, it’s ability to capture your emotions, trigger those beautiful moments in life where everything felt alright, then goes on to also put those moments in life where everything was also that bad together in one piece is just phenomenal. It lets you navigate through the human life beautifully. The track records at Elfo Studio in Piacenza, “Wrinkles” represented the dream behind its creation very well. The way it helps the listener sit and reflect on life’s choices and how it’s panned out is intriguing. It makes you relive the life you lived, it’s like it plays back everything that happened in your life back to you, while maintaining this edge of a life fully lived and enjoyed, where one sighs and is satisfied with everything achieved and desires pursued. Such a beautiful track. They really created this piece and there’s no denying it’s addictiveness, especially those piano and strings just won’t let you go away, it’s inviting, evocative and makes you wanna live every moment again.
Well “Wrinkles” is more than just a song, to me it’s one hell of a masterpiece crafted to give listeners room to explore, reflect and experience their own life again, the joy, the pain, the turnarounds, the magical moments, man this is art and this is music. You don’t get these good ones often, so why don’t you go ahead and give it a listen and enjoy some piece of good music, but to fully grasp this song well, do well to listen to the whole EP and get to know the different human cycles of life while enjoying some traditional elements blended with modern twists.
