PlanG’s “Quite Some Feelin” Captures The Magic Of Live Pub Rock
What are your plans for the weekend coming? See if you haven’t gotten any, then I have something for you. So lemme ask, have you ever walked into a small, packed pub on a Friday night just as the local band strikes up a massive tune? The room instantly comes alive, the crowd leans in, and you can practically feel the electricity bouncing off the walls. That exact magic is what inspired the latest single from PlanG, and it will give you a serious craving for the weekend.

Now the project is called PlanG, which is the brainchild of a singer-songwriter named Padraic Lang. Padraic who is originally from Dublin, Ireland, but he has been based out of Midleton for quite a while has crafted a song that’s gonna make our Friday nights remembering. If you don’t know, he’s spent years quietly writing songs on his acoustic guitar, drawing massive inspiration from all-time legends like The Beatles, The Eagles, Paul Simon, and even folk icons like John Prine and Nancy Griffith.
But for this particular track, “Quite Some Feelin‘,” Padraic decided it was finally time to take his old acoustic notebook into the recording studio. See he didn’t just walk into any studio, though, he went straight to the FrenchQuarter Studios in Cork City and put together a truly global dream team. Padraic collaborated with a brilliant German producer named George Micansky and an incredibly talented American vocalist named Sam Guisinger, who are both currently living in Cork.
When it comes to songs like this, people are usually in a hurry to finish it, but nope, not with PlanG, the team took a patient, deliberate approach. They spent multiple studio sessions over-analyzing every single layer. PlanG would lay down a track, critique it with George, and if it didn’t sound perfect, they would scrap it and start over. What started years ago as a simple acoustic guitar melody during a random jamming session completely transformed in the studio. It evolved into an upbeat, melodic rock anthem that captures the sheer joy of playing live music for a captive audience.
The moment the play button is released, you do realize the track kicking off with these incredibly infectious electric guitar riffs that carries bright energy that instantly lits up your face and mood, creating an atmosphere that is lovely and entertaining. What’s lovely here, is that as the song progresses, you get a beautiful blend of piano, keyboards, and multiple layers of both acoustic and electric lead guitars. The instrumentation feels incredibly rich and warm, giving it that classic, timeless rock feel that sets the walls of the pub on fire.
But the absolute secret weapon of this track is the vocal dynamic. Sam Guisinger’s gorgeous vocals enter the mix and blend softly right alongside Padraic’s lead voice during the verses. It creates a wonderful, soothing contrast. Then, when you finally hit the massive final chorus, Sam’s voice completely soars over the top of the heavy guitars, taking the whole track to a completely different level.
“Quite Some Feelin” is a short, simple, and wonderfully catchy tune that is bound to get stuck in your head after just one listen. The crazy thing about the track is, it avoids any flashy, over-produced corporate tricks and instead sticks to honest storytelling and great instrumentation. To me it’s the ultimate soundtrack for your next road trip or that good time with friends!
