Neodym’s “Midnight Flow” Is Pure After-Dark Energy

Is it only me? Or are you also the kind of person who gets energized by the city at night, or do you start looking for your bed the second the clock hits ten? Well I don’t think you should be the latter when you’ve got that song which allows you to stay awake and just enjoy those neon lights. Well I must say it as it is, and I think Neodym is an artist who really knows how to capture a specific mood.

Before we move, I think you should know she’s been all over the world lately, playing dozens of shows from Europe to Japan and the USA. So it’s no secret she’s a hotcake! Now her latest single, “Midnight Flow,” feels like the perfect soundtrack for those long drives through a city when the sun is down and the neon lights are the only thing keeping you awake.

So I’m not surprised she calls herself a singer and a live electronic artist, cos you can definitely tell she spends a lot of time in clubs and she knows exactly what to do to beats and lyrics that will keep you in the loop throughout the night. What’s beautiful here is how the song comes out as a cool mix of 80s nostalgia and modern electronic pop. It has that shimmering synth sound that makes you think of old-school movies, but the beat is heavy enough to work on a modern dance floor.

You must be wondering, so what’s the spark behind the song? You know those fleeting moments that only happen late at night? I mean the ones where you feel a weird magnetic tension with someone where you wished it never ended, yet you know that feeling might vanish as soon as the sun comes up.

Cos it will be another day and you may never cross roads again, it’s sensual and a bit mysterious. What’s lovely here is how her vocals are really expressive, you can feel it floating over the pulsating beat without ever getting lost in the production. It just pulls you in and let’s you reflect and enjoy every rhythm and every move.

The thing is, it’s the first taste of her new album called “Neo-Dance,” which she worked on with a German producer named Sven Kuhlmann. And I think from the sounds of this single, the album is going to be all about balancing that deep house energy with actual storytelling. Something that will keep you coming back for more.

Neodym doesn’t just want you to dance, she wants you to feel something while you’re doing it. Not just moving your body or nodding to the beats, but instead a feeling, that you can’t ignore than to connect with it deeply. And I don’t blame anyone that will get consumed by it, cos she has a way of making electronic music feel very intimate. A lot of EDM can feel a bit cold or robotic, but her voice brings a lot of vulnerability to the table. It’s powerful stuff, and it manages to stay grounded even when the synthesizers are going wild.

For you out there that wants to have a wild night life and enjoy something vintage and modern “Midnight Flow” is a great pick. It’s got everything you need just so you can stay a bit longer than you plan your night.
