“Unseen Waltz” by AK.T Is Haunting, Beautiful, and Hard to Forget

Sometimes you just need that note from a piano to strike your emotions and pierce your soul. Keeping your relaxed and allowing you to float whilst everything else is silenced and only the notes up on volume. To achieve this, you need some of the finest, and ma guy here AK.T just released a new piano piece called “Unseen Waltz,” and it is the kind of music that makes you want to turn off all the lights and just sit there. This track is part of his debut project, “Specters”, which is all about memories and those weird feelings that stick around long after a person or a place is gone.

But guess what? There’s a real story of how he made this and it’s actually pretty cool. He wrote it during those long, dead-silent hours of the night when everyone else is asleep, so you can feel that vibe in here and it ain’t as if he was even trying to write a specific song at first. And that’s the beauty of this masterpiece. He was just sitting at his piano for hours, letting his hands move until this waltz pattern just sort of appeared out of nowhere. It feels less like something he sat down to “compose” and more like something he accidentally tripped over in the dark.

What i love about the track is the atmosphere it creates, the more you listen the more it feels like being in a room where you’re sure you’re alone, but you still feel like someone is watching you, in a nice way, and not a creepy way. A waltz is usually a dance for two people, right? But here, the second person isn’t in the picture. But here’s the catch, according to AK.T, he felt a “quiet companionship” while he was playing, and this is evident when you start listening. It’s fragile and a bit spooky, but also very peaceful.

What makes this track more interesting is how it has this swaying motion to it, like someone is turning in circles just out of your line of sight, but stays very quiet and delicate, never really getting loud or demanding your attention. You can feel every note in the atmosphere it creates, making it an interesting piece. But do you know that he actually left the song unfinished for a long time before finally coming back to fix it. This gap in time actually brings this vibe like a bridge between who he was then and who he is now. So in a way, the song also reveals our ins and out as humans.

So to me, if you like minimalist piano music that feels like a movie score, you should definitely give this a listen. It’s a perfect little tribute to things that fade away and the silence that follows. It is simple, beautiful, and a little bit haunting.
